We will guide you through the process of setting up and customizing public categories. Public categories are accessible to everyone with the shared link, whereas private categories are only accessible to registered users.

1. Setting Up a Public Category

To set up a public category, follow these steps:

1. You are on the Spot page.
2. Click on the three-dotted menu located next to the category you wish to edit.
3. Click on the “edit” item.
4. In the modal that opens, toggle the switch to activate the item "Set a public category."

Please note that it is not possible to deactivate the approval process when a category is set to public. Additionally, a globe icon will be displayed next to the category name to indicate its public status.

2. Customizing the Public Page

After setting up public categories, you can customize the public page. To customize the public page, follow these steps:

1. Click on the three-dotted menu located next to the category that has been set to public.
2. Click "Customize public page," which will take you to the Public Page Configuration. Fill in the required information such as Organization name, Address, Phone number, E-mail, and upload an image of your organization.
3. Note: Organization name, email, and image are mandatory.
4. Save the information.
5. Click on "Show real page preview" to see how the public page will look like for real public users.

3. Accepting Bookings from the General Public

After customizing the public page, you can start accepting bookings from the general public. To accept bookings from the general public, follow these steps:

1. Open the modal "Accept bookings from general public" by clicking the share icon in the upper right corner panel.
2. You will see all your public categories there, and you can copy the public link.

4. Sharing the Public Link

Now that you have the public link, you can share it anywhere you like. You can send it to your external partners via email or view it on your website.

Setting up and customizing public categories is easy with the steps outlined in this article. By following the steps, you can make your categories accessible to everyone and start accepting bookings from the general public.

5. Embedding the Booking Form on Your Website

To allow visitors to make bookings directly from your website without redirection, you can embed the booking form using a simple <script>.

Get the embed code:

• Log in to the Whatspot application.
• On the main calendar screen, click the “Share” option in the top-right corner.
• Choose the option to embed the calendar into a web page.
• Copy the generated code.
