Sidebar / Spots

A category is an organizational entity that serves as a container for spots. It is a way to group spots into logical units, such as meeting rooms, business cars, or other company resources. Each category can have different properties, such as access permissions, associated with it. Users can be granted access to specific categories, allowing them to view and book the resources within those categories.
As an administrator, you have the ability to manage categories and the spots they contain.

Each Category Can Be in one of the Following States

Active: Users can make bookings in spots within this category. You can also edit the category and add new spots.

Disabled: Bookings in spots within this category will be declined. Additionally, the spots within the category will be disabled and unavailable for bookings. You can disable a category if you need to stop accepting bookings for a particular category temporarily.

Deleted: This removes the category and all associated spots from the system. You can only delete a category when it is in a disabled state to help prevent the accidental deletion of active categories.

It is important to carefully manage the categories in the system to ensure that users are able to make bookings in the spots they need.

Step-by-Step Guide to Editing a Category

1. Name the category

Selecting the correct name will make it easier for the user to navigate throughout the app. Enter a category name such as “Meeting Rooms” or “Meeting Rooms Prague”.

2. Select the category owner

Category owner is one of the user roles. The owner has permission to provide category management such as adding new spots or editing and deactivating existing ones.

3. Choose your favourite colour

You can also choose a preferred colour, which will then be applied to all spots that belong to this category to distinguish it from the others.

4. Set a public category

You can allow bookings even by an unregistered user. It is always subject to the approval process. Find out more about public category settings.

5. Set up the approval process

Decide whether the category will be subjected to the booking approval. Find out more about the approval process.

Once you have finished making changes, click the "Save" button to apply the changes to the category immediately.
